Environmentally friendly kitchens

Sustainability is at the heart of everything Masterclass Kitchens does. They only work with FSC and PEFC accredited forests, ensuring every piece of wood is monitored and sourced from responsibly managed areas. All wood purchased is monitored within the scope of the EUTimberReg and other forest certification systems.

Recycled wood panels

Masterclass panels are made using 100% waste wood materials. This is a mix of approximately 40% recycled consumer timber and 60% wood that is a byproduct of the sawmilling and forestry industry. Their supplier is the largest user of recycled material in the wood-based panel industry.

Zero-to-landfill policy

Their manufacturing facility has a zero-to-landfill policy, this means that all of their waste streams are recycled rather than thrown away.

Use green energy

From the offices to the factory floor, they use only use green energy. By switching to highly efficient LED lighting they are able to keep the lights on and their carbon footprint as small as possible.

Sustainable Marketing

Masterclass’s brochures are 100% recyclable. Using certified carbon neutral paper by World Land Trust's Carbon Balanced programme and is also sourced from FSC certified forests. The brochures are also printed using vegetable based Inks by their printing partner who holds the environment accreditation ISO 14001.

Revolutionary quartz worktops

Consentino is constantly evolving and coming up with new revolutionary ways to make the worktop industry safe and environmentally friendly.

In 2020 Silestone has developed and patented 2 exclusive new technologies;

HybriQ & HyrbiQ+

This blends premium minerals with at least 20% recycled materials, between 99% recycled water and while using 100% renewable energy.

Reduces crystalline silica by up to 90%

Silica found in engineered stones specifically quartz, poses a severe health risks to fabricators. So severe it can often be fatal, causing lung disease.

This is why it so important for worktop manufacturers to take into consideration how much silica is used during the process for making their quartz slabs.

Silestone is the first low silica surface, with a max of 40% crystalline silica in their Q40 ranges and a max of 10% silica in their Q10 ranges!.

High durability, stain resistance and 25 year warranty

The new sustainable worktop technologies are just as durable, stain resistant and stylish as they ever were, while still including a 25 year warranty. Making it a no brainer to upgrade to to this sustainable option.

Sustainable flooring

Back in 2009, Polyflor established an innovative scheme where they collect waste from vinyl samples, offcuts and old stock recycling them into new flooring. This innovative solution was established to minimise the flooring industries environmental impact and create a cost effective solution that not only benefits the environment but the consumer and the flooring trade.

Easy and Convenient Recycling

Polyflor makes it really easy for trades and customers to recycle unused vinyl flooring:

  • Small volumes can be taken to designated drop-off sites for FREE

  • Large volumes can be collected on pallets for a fee for up to 70% less than landfill costs.

7,453 Tonnes Collect Since 2009

Polyflor has successfully collected over 7,453 tonnes of waste vinyl since the scheme began. This is a massive feat and proves how important it is to spread awareness of schemes like Recofloor, so we can all make more conscious decisions about our old flooring.
